CHAPTER TWO
We are looking for Intermediate and Advanced dancers to join our award-winning competitive team!
Auditions
Auditions for our 2025-2026 competitive companies and routines will be held the week following our summer classes. Dancers will be evaluated on their technical skills, performance quality, and ability to execute choreography in multiple styles.

All dancers are required to audition in Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, and Jazz Funk.​
Tap is optional but heavily ENCOURAGED at Moving Different. Taking tap class has been proven to help improve dancers' musicality and mind-body coordination, even if they are not interested in competing in the genre.

Dress code for EVALUATIONS: For Jazz, Ballet, and Contemporary auditions, dancers must wear ALL BLACK, FITTED dancer wear, with hair slicked back into bun or ponytail. Ballet shoes required for Ballet, barefoot or jazz shoes for Jazz/Contemporary, and sneakers for Jazz Funk. Baggy clothing may be worn for Jazz Funk (sneakers) and Tap. ​

It is strongly suggested dancers interested in auditioning for our competitive company attend at least 2 weeks of summer technique classes. This gives not only the dancer an opportunity to get a feel for our environment, but allows us to get to know the dancer in a classroom setting prior to more formal auditions.
Current company members are required to take 3 out of the 4 weeks if they wish to re-audition.
Dancers may take all 4 weeks if they would like.

Results will be sent via email by Saturday, July 26th.
Field Gallery will be taking our Chapter One photos on Tuesday, July 29th, as well as photos of the new Chapter Two team!

Many aspects go into each teacher and choreographers' decisions regarding level placements and routine selection, such as the dancer’s work ethic, experience, and strengths. Competition routines at Moving Different are focused on quality over quantity and showcasing unique choreography, while ultimately prioritizing consistent training and fundamentals first. A spot on our competitive team is a serious commitment and privilege, and the responsibility should not be taken lightly.
